Located in scenic, waterfront Fort Totten Park, the Castle is a NYC landmark andis also listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Constructed in 1887, it served as the Officers' Club for Fort Totten for more than 75 years and is today the home of the Bayside Historical Society.

Event rentals are for 5 hours and include:


Additional time for your event is available at an hourly rate. We ask that your event end no later than midnight.


Discounts


Reservations
A non-refundable application fee of $100 is required to hold your requested date for two weeks. Please contact our event manager to check availablity and to request an applicaiton.

 

Special Event Insurance
BHS requires all individuals and organizations holding events at the Castle to obtain special event insurance.

 

Security/Damage Deposit
$100-500, depending on event space Alcohol If you wish to serve alcohol - beer, wine, champagne, hard liquor - you must make arrangements through a licensed and insured caterer, as mandated by NYSLA. Our staff is happy to provide you with additional information.

 

Parking
Free on-site parking is available to quests with advance registration.

 

Event Setup
Your package also includes 4 hours of set-up time, to be scheduled during BHS office hours. Should you or your vendors require earlier access or additional time to set up, either after hours or on the day of your event, an hourly fee will apply for staff time. We are happy to work with you on all these details to ensure a smooth and stree-free event!

Cleanup
You and your caterer are responsible for cleanup following the event. Tables must be broken down, charis stacked, kitchen surfaces wiped clean, and trash removed as part of cleanup. You will be charged an additional fee for any quipment or supplies left overnight.
