About The Event
Cost: $10 for BHS members; $15 for non-members
Join BHS at The Castle for an afternoon of Persian music and traditional Iranian instruments. This special event features Katayoun on vocals, Hedayat Shafeei on the tar, and Hamidreza Maleki on the santour and oud, offering audiences an authentic glimpse into the sound and spirit of Persian music.
The musicians will perform a selection of traditional and folk songs, along with instrumental improvisations. Throughout the program, they will also share insights about the history of their instruments and explain the structure of a classical Persian music performance.
This is a wonderful opportunity to discover a rich musical tradition in a friendly, local setting.
This event is part of Bayside Historical Society's "Passport Concert Series: Bringing Cultures from Around the World to the Castle at Bayside." Music is culture expressed through sound. Travel with us to faraway lands to experience the beauty and passion of the music that is our universal language.
Light refreshments will be served. Purchase your tickets below or call 718-352-1548.
Funding provided by Council Member Vickie Paladino. This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
