Bayside Maps Collection
Online Exhibit at Omeka
This historical map collection features newly digitized versions of two intriguing resources: the Van Riper "Celebrity Map" from Thomas Van Riper Realtors, published in 1985, highlighting the homes of celebrities and politicians in the Bayside/Flushing area, and a pictorial map by Ranlee Publishing, Inc., displaying local shop names and landmarks in Bayside from 1984-85.

This collection of historical memorabilia from the American Legion Post 510 of Bayside includes rare scrapbooks, photographs, periodicals and more. Special thanks to Joan and Robert Firmery, whose father was past commander Arthur Firmery, for their contributions to this exhibit.

Fort Totten Collection

Bayside Historical Society partnered with Urban Archive in 2020, which allowed us to continue our archival work without interruption during COVID and increasingly digitize our collections. Our Fort Totten collection includes 25 rare photographs of the Fort, its grounds, buildings, and soldiers from the 1800s.
Bayside Yacht Club Collection
Online Exhibit at Urban Archive
Founded in 1902, the Bayside Yacht Club aimed to encourage sailing and social interaction among its members. Bayside Historical Society's digital collection of the BYC on Urban Archive features images of the clubhouse throughout the years, including the original structure, the aftermath of the 1908 fire, and its rebuilding in the 1980s.

In conjunction with our 2014 Bayside Day Commemoration and Festival, Bayside Historical Society partnered with the Queens Memory project to digitize a variety of historical documents and photographs depicting life during the 1914 Bayside Day celebration.
