Exhibits

Changing and permanent exhibits stimulate interest in the history and culture of northeast Queens. Many materials used are culled from the archival collection, and encourage conversation and inquiry.

Events

Performances, lectures, activities, social gatherings, family programs, and local events engage visitors at the Castle, and cultivate appreciation for our area’s historic and cultural resources.

Education

On field trips to the Castle, students are encouraged to think like historians as they interact with artifacts and documents from our collection and participate in fun, grade-appropriate activities.

Archives

BHS offers researchers of all ages public access to its extensive repository of archival materials that document the history and heritage of the communities of Bayside and Northeast Queens.

Community Activities

From meet-and-greet nights for local politicians to neighborhood walking tours, weekly yoga classes, and volunteer opportunities to clean up and beautify our natural resources, BHS helps bring our community together in friendship and stewardship.
