Enjoy a memorable afternoon at The Castle with Nilko Andreas, where the classical guitar becomes a bridge between continents, cultures, and centuries. This evocative recital traces the instrument’s journey from Renaissance Spain — where its technique and expressive voice first took shape — to its vibrant transformation across Latin America. As the guitar crossed the Atlantic, it blossomed into a powerful cultural force, shaped by Indigenous heritage, African rhythmic energy, and European musical tradition.
Featuring works from across Latin America, this program celebrates the guitar as both an intimate storyteller and a bold symbol of identity. Through music inspired by dance, devotion, folklore, and everyday life, the recital captures the spirit, color, and emotional depth of an entire continent. Rooted in the classical tradition yet alive with cultural richness, this performance invites audiences to hear the guitar not just as an instrument — but as a living voice of history, memory, and celebration.
