Bayside Historical Society invites all our valued members for a fun evening of connection and discovery at our upcoming meet & greet event. We encourage our members to invite guests to join in the festivities! This is a wonderful opportunity to share the experience of our community and introduce others to the exciting work we do at Bayside Historical Society. Bring your friends and family to enjoy an evening filled with engaging conversations and new connections.
The event will feature a complimentary presentation by guest speaker Namshik Yoon, a retired NYC Chief of Operations, Urban Park Ranger and Earth Science Teacher, who will share insights on local soil ecosystems. His engaging PowerPoint presentation will cover physical and chemical properties also their environmental impact. Attendees can look forward to learning about the origin of Long Island soil, its role in supporting plant life, its importance in local agriculture, and its impact on our ecosystem as a whole.
As a special bonus, BHS will make The Castle's Archaeology Room accessible for this event. Typically reserved for our educational programs, the Archaeology Room features artifacts dating back as far as 6,500 years, all found within a three-mile radius of the Fort.
Come join us for a fun and educational evening! Enjoy refreshments and light snacks while getting to know each other throughout the evening. For guests who decide to become BHS members, the event cost will be credited towards their membership. We look forward to seeing you there!
