Cost: $10 for BHS members; $15 for non-members

Bayside Historical Society welcomes guzheng artist Wei Sun to The Castle ballroom for a serenely beautiful performance of the guzheng, a traditional Chinese multi-stringed instrument with 2500 years of history. This live concert will also feature piano accompaniment by Katelyn Weng.

About the Artist: Wei Sun, a young guzheng artist from China, was born into a family of musicians and started her guzheng journey at the age of 6. She is a certified senior teacher of guzheng, a member of the China National Instrumental Association and the International Guzheng Association. In 2016, she came to the United States as a guzheng performer and teacher at the CBA Cultural and Arts Center. Wei is the principal performer of Guzheng of the Chinese National Orchestra in New York; she has been invited to perform at the Lincoln Center, United Nations, Pace University, Columbia University, Merkin Concert Hall, Flushing Town hall, and Queens College Art Center.

This event is part of Bayside Historical Society's "Passport Concert Series:  Bringing Cultures from Around the World to the Castle at Bayside." Music is culture expressed through sound.
