New Online Collections and Exhibit!

Updated: Feb 17

Greetings! After our success with From the Archives: Bayside Yacht Club, we have decided to continue this series with a brand-new exhibit on the Bell Family of Bayside. If the name “Bell” rings any bells, it is probably because many of us have walked/driven down Bell Boulevard with the many multi-cultural restaurants, shops and stops.

The Bells settled in Bayside in the early 1800s and established themselves as a family dedicated to the town’s improvement and quality of life for its residents. (You can find out more about them by checking out our historical notes section of the Bell Family Finding Aid on our website!)

We would like to begin showcasing our new exhibit “From the Archives: Poems of the Bell Family” with poems written by members of the family and collected in our archives, never before exhibited to the public in the past. The only difference compared to last year is that for 2020, we have decided to go 100% online.

Over the past few months, we have been preparing a new online platform that will allow us to upload documents from our archives for public digital access. You can view the Exhibit along with already uploaded digital items of our collections here: https://baysidehistoricalsociety.omeka.net/
